Weander assumes command of USACE’s Latin America & Caribbean District
A large crowd gathers June 23, 2026, at Castillo San Cristóbal in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the change of command ceremony in which Lt. Col. Nate Weander assumed leadership of the newly redesignated U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Latin America & Caribbean District. The ceremony marked the district’s expanded mission across millions of square miles and 33 nations, as well as the transition from outgoing commander Col. Charles L. Decker, whose leadership helped shape the organization’s modern regional role.
