Lieutenant Colonel Christopher E. Brunner, a native of Charleston, South Carolina, began his military service in 2005 as a Transportation Management Coordinator and Cadet with the U.S. Army Reserve in North Charleston. He was commissioned in May 2008 upon graduating from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.

LTC Brunner has served in key leadership and operational roles across the Army and is currently assigned as the Chief of Contracting for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Caribbean District in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Caribbean District delivers a multi-billion-dollar civil works program and provides oversight for military construction projects, navigation initiatives, regulatory permits, emergency response efforts, and interagency and international services throughout the Caribbean region.

LTC Brunner’s assignments span a broad range of responsibilities, including: Transportation Platoon Leader and SPO Transportation Officer, 87th CSSB, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga; S4 and Commander, 3rd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Campbell, Ky; Assistant Professor of Military Studies, U.S. Army Cadet Command, University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez; Contracting Team Leader and Executive Officer, 922nd Contracting Battalion, Fort Campbell, Ky.; Military Deputy, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, Ala.

His operational experience includes deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Inherent Resolve. He holds an Unlimited Contracting Warrant and has led critical contracting missions in both domestic and deployed settings.

LTC Brunner’s academic achievements include a Bachelor of Business Administration from The Citadel, an MBA with a concentration in Logistics from Trident University International, and a Master of Arts in Higher Education from the University of Louisville.

His awards and recognitions include the Meritorious Service Medal (4th Award), Army Achievement Medal (5th Award), and the Combat Action Badge, among others. He is a certified Contracting Professional, a member of the Acquisition Corps, and a recipient of the St. Christopher Medal from the Transportation Regimental Association. He also holds the Army Basic Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Parachutist Rigger Badge.
